Community kitchen
The Masontown community kitchen will be open on Tuesday, Sept. 8, between 4 and 5:30 p.m. The meal will be homemade sloppy Joe sandwiches and Spanish rice with corn. The volunteers provide homemade desserts and Panera donates the breads. Located in First Presbyterian Church, 102 W. Church Ave., meals are provided without charge. Class reunion
The Fairchance-Georges High School Class of 1971 will be holding its 55th class reunion on Saturday, Sept. 12, at 2 p.m. at Caporella’s Italian Ristorante in Uniontown. Classmates should call for reservations as soon as possible to Debbie at 724-439-3463.
Class of ’71 reunion
The Uniontown High School Class of 1971 will be holding their 55th Class Reunion Saturday, Sept. 12 at 4 p.m., at the Diamond Ballroom, 444 E. Main St. Photo will be taken at 4:30. A meet and greet will be held Friday, Sept. 11, at 5 p.m. at Bogey’s Restaurant, 374 Duck Hollow Road. The reunion weekend will begin with a golf outing on Friday at Bogey’s at 10 a.m. The reunion includes a special fundraising effort for the Class of 1971 Scholarship Fund. Chorale practice
The Greater Uniontown Chorale begins practice for its Christmas concerts on Monday, Sept. 14, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Trinity United Presbyterian Church, 79 W. Fayette St., Uniontown. If you love to sing, you are invited to come and bring a friend. Visit the group’s Facebook Page for more information.
Bereavement group
Stepping Stones Bereavement Support will begin the fall program for the newly bereaved and those who may still be suffering from a loss. Articles will be used. There is no charge for participants. The sessions begin at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 14, at Third Presbyterian Church, 425 Union St., Uniontown. For information or to register, call Lillian at 724-439-1683.
BAMA meeting
Pastor Roger Diehl, acting president of the Brownsville Area Ministerial Association, has scheduled a meeting for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, at Allison Nazarene Church (416 Vernon St.). BAMA is still in need of a secretary and someone to serve as president or vice president.
Bible study
The Brownsville Ministerial Association is interested in starting a weekly Bible study for the Senior Center any day except Tuesday. The group is interested in finding an individual who would be interested in instructing the study. Calendar party
Soroptimist International of Fayette County will host a Calendar Party Fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 19, to support the Soroptimist Dream Programs, which help women and girls access the education, training, and resources they need to pursue their goals and achieve economic empowerment. Doors will open at 11 a.m., followed by a catered lunch at 12:30 p.m. Admission tickets are $20 each. Guests will have the opportunity to purchase tickets for a basket raffle, cash salad, and 50/50 drawing throughout the event.A calendar party is a themed fundraising event in which guests typically gather around tables representing the months of the year, seasons, holidays, or special occasions. Attendees enjoy fellowship, food, prizes, and raffles while supporting a charitable cause. Tickets may be ordered by calling Pam Barnhart at 724-439-5835 or by contacting any club member.
Praise Fest
The 2026 Brownsville Area Praise Fest will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at the Cast Iron Amphitheater. The rain location will be the Brownsville Sons of Italy. Featured will be local singers/choirs, praise bands, pastors, a speaker from a local youth group, a dance ministry, and a flag ministry.
Arts program
Mon Valley Academy for the Arts (MVAA) invites teens to participate in its ongoing Crafty Conversations program, held on the second Wednesday of each month from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Peter J. Daley Cultural Center, 119 Brownsville Ave., Brownsville. The free sessions offer teens a chance to express themselves artistically. Radio club
The Uniontown Amateur Radio Club holds its meetings on the first and third Wednesdays of every month at 7 p.m. at the club building, 433 Old Pittsburgh Road, Uniontown. Women’s meeting
Malden Christian Fellowship, 343 Old National Pike, Brownsville is holding a weekly meeting for women and teenage girls to discuss issues like depression, grief and eating disorders. Meetings are on Thursdays from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Addiction recovery
On Mondays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., the addiction recovery ministry There is Hope will be held at Malden Christian Fellowship, 343 Old National Pike, Brownsville. Prayer group
Fort Burd United Presbyterian Church, 200 Thornton Road, Brownsville, is holding a weekly prayer group on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. The public is invited.
