William G. Phillips, 87, of Waynesburg, passed away peacefully, in his residence, Thursday, April 6, 2023.

Bill was born February 14, 1936, in Morgantown, W.Va., to the late Edison and Dorothy Phillips.

He grew up in Waynesburg and graduated from Waynesburg High School.

After serving his country in the U.S. Army, he returned home and married Rosalie Matz Phillips in 1960.

He went on to work in the engineering field prior to opening up his own land surveying company. Later in life, he partnered up with other companies in the area on several large projects, such as The LRT Subway in Pittsburgh and The Mon-Fayette Expressway.

Bill鈥檚 interests included woodworking, and he went on to build his own home. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching football, and being outdoors with his family.

In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by three children, David Phillips, Ethan Phillips and Nicole Phillips; two siblings, Edison 鈥淧hil鈥 Phillips and Sally Litwinovich; and seven grandchildren.

A private memorial service for family and friends will be scheduled at a later date.
