Rodney R. Hixon, 73, of Sycamore, formerly of Jefferson, passed away Monday, June 19, 2023, in his home. He was born November 12, 1949, in Pontiac, Mich., a son of the late George R. and Elma L. Mundell Hixon.

Rodney resided in Sycamore for the past 31 years and was a 50-year member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 461, Waynesburg.

He worked at the Gateway Coal Mine, the U.S. Steel Clairton Mill Works, Clairton, and later as an overnight stocker at the Walmart in Washington.

Rodney enjoyed yard work and attending flea markets.

On July 1, 1967, he married Diana D. Davis, who survives.

Also surviving are a son, Daniel R. Hixon of Jefferson; three daughters, Tammy S. Miller (Worley) of Kingwood, W.Va., Consuela L. Hixon of Sycamore and Michelle K. Hixon of Washington; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Andrew, Markitta and Justin; five great- grandchildren, Isaac, Ethan, Eli, Adaline and Violet; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are a brother, Randy L. Hixon; and two sisters, Drucilla E. “Angel” Taylor and Lois E. Vernon.

Family and friends were welcome from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 22, in Yoskovich Funeral Home (724-966-5500), Martin J. Yoskovich, funeral director, 300 South Vine Street, Carmichaels. Private interment at Muddy Creek Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
