Copperheads pound WBAC, 14-1

The Carmichaels Copperheads scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning and didn’t look back in securing a 14-1 victory over WBAC in Fayette County Baseball League action on Monday.

Carmichaels (10-1-1) added four runs to its lead in the bottom of the second inning. The advantage grew to 13-0 after three innings.

Winning pitcher Gavin Pratt allowed one unearned run on four hits with three hits and four strikeouts in four innings. Nick Pegg pitched a scoreless inning, allowing one hit with a walk and one strikeout.

Jimmy Sadler had a home run and single, drove in two runs and scored three times in the victory. Gianni Cantini (triple, single) and Pegg (double, single) both finished with two hits. Forrest Havanis, Cantini and Pegg all drove in two runs.

Donovan von Fradenburgh had two hits for WBAC (3-10-1).
