Alabama freshman Ella Menear placed 31st in the 100 backstroke in the 2024 NCAA Division I Swimming & Diving Championship over the weekend.

The Mapletown graduate shaved .04 seconds off her seed time to finish in 52.11 seconds. Menear’s splits were 12.21, 12.91, 13.38 and 13.61 seconds.

Menear finished 36th in the 200 back with a time of 1:54.71 seconds, just a bit faster than her seed time of 1:54.84.

Menear also swam the opening backstroke leg of the Crimson Tide’s 400 medley relay, but the quartet was disqualified with the last swimmer took off from the block early.
