By The 1 min read

Police said a 30-year-old woman was attacked by a man who spent the night in her basement in Carmichaels without her knowledge.

State police said the man, age 39, arrived at her house at 208 N. Vine St. at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday. The woman who lived there asked him to leave.

Neither person was identified by police.

The woman thought he had complied, but he allegedly slept in her basement on the floor next to a furnace. Just before 8 a.m., police said he went upstairs where the woman was asleep on the floor.

Police said he covered her mouth, hit her in the face multiple times and threatened to kill her.

The woman kicked him away, according to police. He allegedly took her phone and iPad and fled the scene.
