At least two people, both juveniles, were struck by bullets after an altercation on Murray Avenue in Uniontown Tuesday afternoon.

Uniontown City Police Lt. Tom Kolencik said the injuries were 鈥渧ery minor鈥 and the teens refused treatment.

He said a fight broke out between two juveniles in front of 75 Murray Ave. at about 1:30 p.m.

One of those teens is being treated for injuries at Uniontown Hospital.

After the fight, a third juvenile left the house and handed a gun to another juvenile. That teen allegedly fired multiple shots, hitting at least two people.

Kolencik said witnesses indicated a third person was also struck, but no victims came forward and no one was admitted to the hospital with gunshot wounds.

Two of the juveniles who were allegedly involved are in custody. No charges were filed Tuesday afternoon. A car was also damaged in the fight, and the residence was damaged by a bullet, he said.

Kolencik said Murray Avenue has lately been 鈥渁 hot spot鈥 for criminal activity, including fights. While he said police response on the road has long been a priority for city police, they plan to increase patrols on the road after this incident.

He said that while the alleged shooting was a tragedy, it is fortunate that no one was severely injured or killed during the altercation.

鈥淭his had the potential to be very bad,鈥 he said.
