Man charged with chasing and shooting at car with 3 inside
Police issued a warrant for the arrest of a Monessen man Friday who allegedly shot at a car with three people inside.
D’El Mackey, 34, allegedly threatened the victims Monday night, according to an affidavit of probable cause.
Monessen police officer Brian Mickens wrote in the complaint that Mackey told the alleged victims “he was going to get his guns and (expletive) them up.” The alleged victims are Kara Prentice, Peck Smith and Dyra Smith, police said.
They called 911 to say Mackey was chasing them and firing shots at the vehicle. One bullet hit the driver’s side window frame, according to the affidavit.
Police said part of the chase was captured on surveillance footage in the city, showing a Pontiac Vibe chasing the alleged victim’s car and nearly hitting them.
The alleged victims fled to the Monessen police station “for refuge” and made statements, police said.
Mackey is charged with three counts each of criminal attempt to commit murder in the third degree, aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats and reckless endangerment.
