By The 1 min read

Hundreds of counts were added to the cases of two woman charged with stealing more than $1 million from a former employer over five years.

Preliminary hearings scheduled for Tammy Lee Keefer, 43, of Donegal and Lisa Dawn Cavanaugh, 49, of Dunbar were continued Monday so officials could amend the charges against the women.

Cavanaugh allegedly printed fraudulent checks from her former employer, CAP Glass Inc. in Connellsville, and had Keefer cash the checks for half the money.

After the charges were amended, officials said the total amount stolen was $1,021,364.04.

Cavanaugh and Keefer are both charged with eight counts each of burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary, 335 counts of forgery, 150 counts of theft, 260 counts of receiving stolen property, 185 counts of conspiracy to commit forgery and 100 counts of conspiracy to commit theft.

Cavanaugh is free on a $100,000 unsecured bond. Keefer is free after a $100,000 bond was posted on her behalf.

A new date for the hearings has not been set.
