Uniontown woman sentenced in T-shirt dispute
A Uniontown woman who pleaded guilty to terroristic threats in a dispute over a T-shirt exchanged smiles with her attorney after she was sentenced to intermediate punishment Monday.
Kayla Farrar, 27, was sentenced to six to 18 months under house arrest by Judge Steve P. Leskinen. She will receive credit for time she served between July and September last year, he said, meaning she could serve as little as four months.
Farrar was initially charged with four counts of attempted homicide after the argument escalated and 12 shots were fired in South Union Township on July 22 on Ashley Street. No injuries were reported. The shooter, Kenyetta Lewis, was sentenced to five to 10 years in prison in July.
The argument started as a dispute between Farrar and Cianna Jo Reilly over Reilly鈥檚 work T-shirt. The fight rekindled that night after Reilly confronted a friend about speeding on her street. A large group formed outside Reilly鈥檚 home.
Witnesses told police Farrar said she would 鈥渉ave PC (Pershing Court) come down here and blow this place up.鈥�
Another witness told police he heard Farrar say, 鈥淚鈥檓 going to make a phone call and have her house shot up.鈥� She was later seen talking on a cellphone. A few minutes later, a light-colored vehicle stopped on the street. Lewis exited the car and fired shots toward Reilly and other witnesses who ran inside.
One bullet shattered a living room window at a neighboring house. Four children were asleep in the living room when the bullet struck a plaque on the wall.
