Officials said a truck pulled down wires Thursday morning, leaving parts of Connellsville without power.

Nearly 900 Connellsville residents were without power a few hours on Thursday morning due to a vehicle accident in the city.

Fayette County 911 said parts of Connellsville were experiencing a power outage after a truck pulled down wires.

Connellsville Mayor Greg Lincoln said a box truck struck and took out a West Penn Power pole near Bud Murphy鈥檚 restaurant as calls came in to Fayette County 911 around 9:14 a.m.

鈥淚t was their Arch Street circuit,鈥 Lincoln said, adding that 898 customers were affected by the outage.

Lincoln reported that power was restored on the scene by 11 a.m.

Along with the power company, New Haven Hose Volunteer Fire Department and Connellsville police responded to the scene.
