Police: Dunbar man drugged, raped 13-year-old girl
A Dunbar man is behind bars for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl after forcing her to inhale illegal drugs.
James Edward Pitts, 28, of Cope Road is charged with rape, rape of a substantially impaired person, statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a substantially impaired person, unlawful contact with a minor, aggravated indecent assault, aggravated indecent assault of a person less than 16, corruption of minors, indecent exposure, indecent assault, and indecent assault of a person less than 16.
The 缅北禁地 does not identify those who allege they are victims of rape.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed in his case, he went to the basement of his home with the alleged victim and his 5-year-old daughter on a specified date in May. Pitts reportedly gave the girl alcohol and forced her to ingest drugs. He then allegedly forced sex acts on her and raped her. The teen said he bathed her after the rape.
The teen reportedly told police she told him “no” multiple times and tried to get away. She said she was severely intoxicated, going in and out of consciousness, nauseous and had no control over her arms and legs, according to court paperwork.
She went to the hospital the next day, where a rape kit was collected.
Pitts was arrested Tuesday afternoon and arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Richard A. Kasunic II, who set bail at $150,000. He remains in Fayette County Prison in lieu of bond.
