A Connellsville man is behind bars after he allegedly punched his former employer and stole a wad of cash in Dunbar Friday night.

Jeremy Aaron Nicklow, 29, of West Crawford Avenue is charged with two counts of robbery and one count each of theft, receiving stolen property and simple assault.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by police, Ronald Roebuck was counting money in front of Nicklow at 75 Woodvale St. at about 7 p.m. when Nicklow punched him in the face and grabbed the money. Roebuck told police he was meeting Nicklow to pay him for two days of general contracting work. He said Nicklow worked for him two days and quit. Roebuck said he went to Nicklow’s home to try to get his money back, but left after Nicklow and his family threatened to call police if he didn’t leave.

Police said Roebuck had a small cut on his lip.

Nicklow was arrested later that night at his home. He declined to talk to police, according to court paperwork. Police said he had a small cut on the knuckle of his ring finger on his right hand.

He was arraigned early Saturday before on-call Magisterial District Judge Jennifer Jeffries, who set bail at $10,000. He remains in Fayette County Prison in lieu of bond.
