Man charged with assault in Point Marion
State police issued an arrest warrant Friday for a Greensboro man who allegedly beat a man unconscious in Point Marion Tuesday.
Theodore Eugene Gibbs, 29, is charged with aggravated assault, robbery, simple assault and theft.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed in his case, police found Jeffery A. Mullenax unconscious on the back porch of a Railroad Street home at about 10:20 p.m. Tuesday. He had a swollen eye, cuts on his face, a swollen elbow and blood on his face and body, police said. He was taken to Uniontown Hospital for treatment.
Mullenax reportedly told police he went over to a nearby Railroad Street address to borrow movies earlier in the day, and got into an argument with Gibbs. When he went back to return the movies, Gibbs allegedly said “I got one for you,” and hit him in the face. Mullenax said he may have lost consciousness, and woke up to discover $5 missing from his pocket, according to court documents.
Witnesses also reportedly identified Gibbs as the person who allegedly assaulted Mullenax.
Police said Gibbs does not have a consistent address and they were unable to immediately locate him.
