Woman dies in Springhill Township blaze
State police are investigating to determine what caused a structure fire that took the life of a woman in Point Marion early Thursday morning.
Emergency crews responded to the small home at 128 Greater Point Marion Road a little after 4 a.m. Police have yet to release the name of the woman who was killed.聽
A neighbor who didn鈥檛 want to be identified said her husband woke her up around 3:45 a.m. after he saw the fire, and called 911 to summon help.
鈥淚t was totally engulfed,鈥� the neighbor said. 鈥淭he flames were high up there. I鈥檝e never seen a fire like that.鈥�
The neighbor said she didn鈥檛 know the woman who died.
A fire marshal is investigating. The coroner鈥檚 office was called to the scene, and firefighters and state police remained on the scene as of 7:30 a.m.聽
