A Monessen woman is in Westmoreland County Prison without bond, charged with stabbing another woman multiple times in an argument over money.

Tiffany Grogan, 37, of Highland Manor, allegedly stabbed Haley Aldrich in the head, neck, back, arm and underarm at a 10th Street, Monessen home around 1:40 a.m. Monday.

Aldrich was flown to a hospital via medical helicopter for treatment of her injuries, police said.

Police said when they arrived at 326 10th St., they were met by Tonya Young, who urged authorities to hurry because Aldrich, whose age was not listed, was “bleeding bad.”

Aldrich was found in the kitchen, police said, covered in blood but conscious.

Aldrich told police that Grogan came over to ask for money. When she told Grogan she didn’t have any, Grogan started stabbing her, according to court paperwork.

Young reportedly told police she tried to stop Grogan, but Grogan bit her arm. Another woman at the home, Djuna Tansmore, also tried to intervene, but was cut, police said.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, Grogan fled to another home, was asked to leave and returned to her home.

Police said they located Grogan at home, and she came out wearing different clothing. She reportedly told police she was jumped by Aldrich, Young and Tansmore and repeatedly said she didn’t stab anyone, court papers related.

Police, however, noted in court paperwork that they did not talk to Grogan about the stabbing before she issued a denial.

Grogan was charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, three counts of simple assault, four counts of recklessly endangering another person and three counts of harassment.

She was denied bond after her arraignment.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for 10:15 a.m. Dec. 6 in Magisterial District Court 10-1-03 in Monessen.
