Firefighters were called out multiple times for a Monday fire that damaged a house in Brownsville.

The fire at 11 Clayford Ave. was called in at 3:48 a.m., said Sue Kozak-Griffith, public information officer for the Fayette County Emergency Management Agency.

All occupants of the home were able to get out safely, Kozak-Griffith said. In a Facebook post, the Brownsville Ambulance Service said one of the dogs at the home died in the fire.

The fire rekindled twice after the initial response, Kozak-Griffith said. As of 3 p.m. Monday, firefighters were no longer on scene.

The state fire marshal was called to the scene to investigate, Kozak-Griffith said.
