Ethel Maxine Sanders, known lovingly as Mac, Aunt Mac, Mom, Mommie and Nannie, passed from this world Friday, April 10, 2026, just one month shy of her 98th birthday, leaving behind a warmth that touched everyone who was fortunate enough to walk through her door. The youngest of 10 children born to Joseph and Maude Steward, she lived a life as full and rich as the meals she set on her table.
She was married to her beloved husband, Paul for 61 years. Together they raised two daughters.
She was a homemaker at heart, and also shared her gifts with the community, working in the fabric department at Hills and at Brookville.
Maxine leaves behind her two daughters; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; her sons-in-law; two sisters- in-law; one brother-in- law; and a wide circle of beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, April 17, in Mon Valley Memorial Park Chapel, 49 2nd Street Extension, Donora, PA 15033, with Pastor Terry Sanders officiating.
