Mr. Norman “Champ” L. Howard, Jr., 86, of Uniontown, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2026, in Uniontown Hospital.
He was born in Uniontown September 4, 1939, to the late Norman L. Howard, Sr. and Pearl Miller Howard.
Norman graduated from Uniontown High School, Class of 1958. He was inducted into the Uniontown High School Hall of Fame for football and basketball.
He was a veteran of the United States Army Reserves.
Norman worked at Anchor Hocking, retiring after 45 years of employment.
He was an avid jogger, and loved to play softball through his years. He enjoyed his coffee time with his wife, Eva at McDonalds and going for rides with his granddaughters.
Norman is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Eva Hice Howard of Uniontown; a son, Norman L. Howard, III of Uniontown; a daughter, Janet Reid of Uniontown; two granddaughters, Macey and Maddie Reid; a sister, Janet Clingan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Donald Howard and Martha Saluga; and dear friend, Tom Esper.
Visitation for Norman is in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, 603 N. Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, PA 15401, Monday, April 20, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, in the funeral home.
Interment is in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
