T. Samuel B. Hunt, 76, of Uniontown, passed away Monday, April 20, 2026 in Jefferson Hospital with his loving family by his side.
He was born January 11, 1950 in Uniontown, PA a son of the late Thomas Burns Hunt, Sr. and Mary J. Richter Hunt Legat.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Thomas B. Hunt, Jr., Timothy B. Hunt, Thompson B. Hunt, Terry B. Hunt and Todd B. Hunt; and sisters, Thacilla “Birdie” Hucik, Mary Louise Horne, Jane Gaskill and Ruth Stark.
Sam was a 1969 graduate of North Union High School. He was a member of Great Bethel Baptist Church. Sam worked as a security guard for Hackney Investigations and Security. He was a 32nd degree mason. Sam was a member of King Solomon Lodge #346 F&AM of Connellsville, a Boy Scout Leader, vice president of the SPCA and an avid animal lover.
Left to cherish Sam’s memory are his loving wife of 51 years, Patti Stokes Hunt; sisters, Toni Davis (Roger) of Mt. Airy, Md. and Trudy Dursa (Regis) of Uniontown; special cousins, Debbie and Sonny Mitchell; nieces and nephews, Roger, Jr., Kimberly, Kristie, Natalie, Regis, II, Melissa, Tasia and Heather and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, PA where the family and friends will be received on Sunday, April 26th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue in the funeral home on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by a service celebrating Sam’s life at 11 a.m. with Pastor Paul Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Sylvan Hights Cemetery.
A Masonic service will be held by, King Solomon Lodge, at 7:30 Sunday evening.
The family suggests that donations in Sam’s memory can be made to the SPCA.
