James R. Barron, of Scottdale, passed away peacefully, in his home with friends and family by his side, Wednesday, April 22, 2026.

Retired from a career in the USAF, he was a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam wars and a lifelong member of the VFW. He was lover of all sports especially the Steelers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Parsons M. and Agnes Carnack Barron; sisters, Beatrice B. House, and Nancy Barron; niece, Darlene House Redman.

Surviving are a sister, Mary Lou Kelley of West Newton; two nieces, Deborah Lee Kelley Merta and husband Frank of West Newton, Denise House Zundel and husband John of Vanderbilt; great-nephew, Donald D. Redman, Jr. and wife Maria.

Friends will be received in the BLAIR-LOWTHER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 305 Rear Independence Street, Perryopolis, Wednesday, April 29, from 10 to 11:00 a.m., the time of his funeral service. Interment to follow at Green Ridge Cemetery, Connellsville, with full military rites and honors being accorded by the AMVETS General George C. Marshal Post #103 of Hopwood.
