Simone Hartwick
January 17, 1939 – March 15, 2026
formerly of
McClellandtown
On Sunday, March 15, 2026, Simone “Sammie” Stilwell Hartwick, of Bethel Park, passed away peacefully at Peroni Personal Care Home.
She was the daughter of the late Harry and Anna Vavrek Stilwell of McClellandtown; and the loving mother of Chuckie Hartwick.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hartwick; brother, Robert Stilwell; sister-in-law, Lorraine; and niece, Renee Miscik.
She is survived by her niece, Jeannine Posey of Virginia; and cousins. Beverly (Bill) McCusker and Simone were dear cousins, who had fond memories of growing up together on their family farms. They were more like sisters, but even closer. Their lives became miles apart, but they still had their daily talks and laughs.
Simone graduated from German Township High School in 1956. She was a secretary at Monroe Business Systems and a Mount Lebanon construction company.
Simone was a caregiver for her mother and son. Her loving cousin, Jimmy Vavrek (Janine), would enjoy visiting Simone, taking her to appointments and providing support by their words and actions.
Simone was the kind of person who you enjoyed being around. In her presence, she could make a gloomy room feel a lot better. Simone was a big Steelers fan and she enjoyed reading and being around friends and family. Simone was beautiful in and out and will be missed by those who knew her.
Family and friends can attend a memorial service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 28, at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
