Walter F. “Spanky” Marinelli, Jr., 65, of Grindstone, passed away unexpectedly Monday, July 13, 2026. He was born June 11, 1961 in Uniontown, a son of the late Walter F. and Beverly J. Taylor Marinelli.
Spanky was a member of Fairbanks and Keisterville gun clubs. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved spending time at the racetrack with his son, grandson and racing family.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Patrick Marinelli; sister, Beth Ann Marinelli; as well as his grandparents.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, Janice Wright Marinelli; son, Walter “Sparky” Marinelli and fiancee Meaghan; grandson, Austin and his mother, Jennifer; granddaughters, Kaydence, Hayleigh, Kami, Jessica; sister, Bobbi Jo Higman and fiance James Spike; along with nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He will greatly be missed by his beloved dogs, Sammy and Tank.
Family and friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park Street, Brownsville, PA 15417, Friday, July 17, from 2 until the funeral service at 6 p.m., officiated by Spanky’s cousin, Pastor Roger Laktash.
The family requests that everyone dress casual.
