Lorie Ann Hercik, 67, of Hopwood, passed away Friday, July 10, 2026, at her home with her son by her side, after a brief but valiant battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born July 1, 1959, in Uniontown, daughter of the late Aloysius and Louise Ulanosky Hercik.
Lorie Ann graduated from Uniontown High School, class of 1977 and Durbin Secretarial School. She was employed by the Fayette County Assistance Office in various roles. She was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown throughout her life and fully committed her life to Jesus Christ in the final weeks of her life. Lorie loved animals, enjoyed traveling, going to the casino, spending quality time with family and friends and always helping people. She found true fulfillment in serving others.
Left to cherish Lorie’s memory are her loving son, Alec; brothers, Tom Hercik of Uniontown and the Reverend Father Terry Hercik of Verona; sisters, Marlene Jane Hercik-Evans of Indian Rocks Beach, Fla. and Darla (Ed) Rocco of Allison Park. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Gator and many close friends that she considered family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, where family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 16th and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., when prayers of transfer will be offered, Friday, July 17th. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Lorie’s life will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph R. C. Church. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
