William Douglas “Doug” Oglevee, 67, of Smithfield, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 24, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on February 20, 1959, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, Doug was a son of the late William and Janice Oglevee.
Doug was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and faithful servant of God. He faithfully served as a Deacon at Central Christian Church, where his unwavering faith and dedication to serving others reflected the way he lived his life.
Doug dedicated many years of his career as a mechanic at Bryson Motors in Uniontown, where he was respected for his hard work, skill, and willingness to lend a helping hand. Outside of work, he found joy in tending to his garden, spending time outdoors, and sharing the fruits of his labor with family and friends. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, a lifelong NASCAR enthusiast, and enjoyed fellowship with friends as a member of the Big Bend Boat Club and a social member of the Hutchinson Gun Club and Turkeyfoot Gun Club.
Above all else, Doug treasured his family. He was especially honored to serve as Godfather to Ty and Ross Pleban and was a loving uncle to all of his nephews. Whether offering a helping hand, sharing a laugh, or simply spending time together, Doug’s kindness, quiet strength, and generous heart touched everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Misty Oglevee, and their faithful companion, Willy; his son, Travis Oglevee, and his family, Brittany and Levi; his daughter, Brooke Ellsworth, and her family, Robert, Maggie, and Andi; his sisters, Sharon and Mario Hernandez, Susan and George Mullen, and Becky Oglevee and Vicki Fountain; his mother-in-law, Mary Lou Voithofer; his sister-in-law, Jodi and Chad Pleban; his brother-in-law, Edward and Virginia Voithofer III; along with extended family members, and dear friends.
In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his beloved son, Phillip Oglevee; his father-in-law, Edward Voithofer Jr.; and his grandparents, Charles and Althea Snyder and William D. and Velma Oglevee.
Doug will be remembered for his steadfast faith, his unwavering love for his family, his strong work ethic, his generous spirit, and the smile and laughter he brought to those around him. He never missed an opportunity to share a joke, tease someone he loved, or brighten the day with his sense of humor. His life was one of quiet service, humble kindness, and unconditional love. Though his family will miss him beyond measure, they find comfort in knowing he is at peace in the presence of his Lord and Savior and reunited with those who have gone before him.
Per Doug’s wishes, a private service for immediate family will be held. The family appreciates the love, prayers, and support of friends and loved ones as they remember and celebrate Doug’s life.
