Joseph E. King, 72 of Upper Middletown, passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, July 25, 2026.
Born in Uniontown on September 19, 1953, Joe was a son of the late George and Betty Wilson King.
A 1971 graduate of Laurel Highlands High School, Joe spent 23 years with Walmart, working in several Pennsylvania locations before retiring from the Latrobe store. Wherever he worked, Joe left a lasting impression. His warm smile, kind heart and genuine interest in others turned coworkers into lifelong friends.
Family was the center of Joe’s world. He wore the title of “Pap” with immense pride and never missed an opportunity to share pictures of his grandchildren. They were his greatest joy. His love for his family was constant, unconditional and evident in everything he did.
His is survived by his fiancee Sandy Walters and their beloved kitty Little Boy; son Joseph King (Andrea) of Monogah, W.Va.; grandchildern, Tristan and Cadence King; sisters, Linda Wagner of Myerstown, and Nancy King of Uniontown: and nieces Tracy Wagner (Lloyd), Carrie Custer (John) and Karla Wagner.
In addition to his parents, Joe was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Ed Wagner.
Joe’s greatest legacy is not found in the years he lived, but in the countless lives he touched. Though he will be deeply missed , those who knew him will find comfort in the many memories he leaves behind and the example he set of a life with kindness, generosity and love.
Family and friends will received in the SHELL FUNERAL HOME, INC. 164 S. Mt. Vernon Ave., Uniontown, PA on Saturday, August 1, 2026 from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. the time of service with Pastor Michael Lyons officiating. Interment will be private.
