Bernard John Zuchelkowski, 75, of Brownsville, Pa, passed away Friday, May 1, 2026 after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

Born on August 23, 1950, he was a son of the late Francis “Zeke” and Agnes Kropilak Zuchelkowski. He grew up in Filbert #2. Bernie often shared his fond memories of his time there and of the wonderful life-long friendships he was so blessed to have had.

Bernie was a 1968 graduate of Brownsville Area High School and a 1972 graduate of California State College His teaching career began in the Southeastern Greene School District (Mapletown High School), where he taught math and inspired many students over his 35 year career. Anyone who knew Bernie, knew how much he loved sports. He was an avid fan of all Pittsburgh Ãå±±½ûµØ Teams, the New York Knicks, and the Alabama Crimson Tide. As a gifted athlete, Bernie was a star high school baseball player and went on to excel on the Slo-Pitch Softball field. In fact, the Republic Softball Field is where he met his wife Natalie.
