Kathy June Ridley, 69, passed away peacefully, in her home in Uniontown, Sunday, May 3, 2026, after a brief illness.
Kathy was born March 21, 1957 in Beckley, W.Va., to Linda Shumate Carter and Otis Carter.
She worked in government services for UDSA Rural Development, retiring after many years of dedicated employment.
She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, grandmother and friend, who cherished spending time with those whom she loved.
She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Tim Ridley of Uniontown; mother, Linda Shumate of Shady Spring, W.Va.; son, George (Wendy) Meadows of Shady Spring; bonus children, Matthew (Courtney) Ridley of Mechanicsburg, Aaron (Sara) Ridley of Masontown, Elizabeth Ridley of Homestead; granddaughters, Peyton Meadows of Shady Spring, Amelia Ridley of Mechanicsburg, Mattie and Gracie Ridley of Masontown; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Garbart of Dunbar, and Lucinda Ridley of Uniontown; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Kathy was preceded in death by grandparents, Frank and Margaret Cook; her mother-in-law, Retha Ridley; her uncle, Larry Cook; brother-in- law, Robert Garbart; nephew, William Garbart; and stepfather, Sherman Shumate.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no viewing or services.
Kathy’s kindness will live on in all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.
