Josephine C. Hager, age 87, of Dearth, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2026, in her home, with her loving family by her side.
She was born on January 13, 1939 in Uniontown, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Bartos Svincek.
Josephine was a member of St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church of Uniontown.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jasper M. Hager, Sr.; and three brothers, Francis, Joseph and Eugene Svincek.
Josephine is survived by her three children, Jack L. Hager and wife Rhonda, Jasper “Jay” Hager, Jr. and wife Donna, Janet Smearcheck and husband Robert; two grandchildren, Stephany Smearcheck, and Shawn Smearcheck and wife Marissa; one very special great-grandchild, Walker Smearcheck; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements are private for her immediate family and are under the direction of the DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, 35 South Mill Street, New Salem.
