Wolf needs to raise minimum wage gradually

2 min read

This governor isn’t who I would have voted for no matter who he was running against. Even if it was Howdy Doody. He wants to make up for a lack of business tax money by raising every individuals taxes. Isn’t that just like a Democrat. Instead of bringing in new businesses, he wants the minimum wage raised to $15/hour .

That’s ludicrous.

We are a backward state with the second most senior citizens in the country. Over the years, our businesses were over taxed right out of the state. We were the last to have casinos. Our legislators have done little to nothing to remedy the problem, but have never had a problem with accepting their paychecks and retiring with a very healthy pension all on us. Most of you probably don’t know this, but a Congressman with 20 years of service retired with a whopping total of $92,000 a year.

Any hollow-headed person knows that you can seldom make up for lost time. The minimum wage needs to be raised gradually, along with the cost of living. It’s been a miserable $7. 25 for an awful long time .

That is our president’s and state legislator’s fault. While they were getting their undeserved raises the rest of us hard working people got the bone. Ten dollars per hour would be sensible raise right now and next year maybe a little more . That’s what Gov. Wolf should have said. Small businessmen are up in arms about $12/hour, but they might be okay with $10. It only makes sense. Could that be too much to ask?
