Are we doing our best to keep God in our lives?

By Gene Barnhart 3 min read

We are getting close to the season of Lent. It is a time when all of us need to examine our lives pertaining to how we feel about God. What road are we taking to unify us with him, or what direction are we going to separate ourselves from him.

I believe that we Christians have a deep love for our Savior and sincerely want to serve and respect him.

Every time we have a tragedy in our lives, the first words out of our mouth is, ” God please help Me”. He is the one person we always go to when we feel pain, suffering and fear of losing someone we love dearly.

It seems, we only call on God when we are in trouble or afraid.

Jesus has told us that, “I am the cure for every illness.

I am the calm for every storm. I am the comfort for every sorrow.” How do we receive these special graces and support, through Prayer. Sincere prayer can work miracles. It feeds the seed that God planted in all of us. Prayer also brings our Savior closer to us, unifies family and will eventually bring us back to a united country.

Praying will help us to take a good look at ourselves and the world around us. Pay attention to what is being done by these racial groups, media and other people and what they are doing and saying about our religious values.

Why are we letting Satan’s helpers disgrace our God and country. I don’t think God or our ancestors would be very proud of us.

We already know and see how much anger, hatred and lying that destroys so many people unjustly that we don’t know who to trust.

These enemies are murdering children of God thru abortion.

They are erasing God by forcing religious statues and monuments to be covered or taken down, defacing sacred artifacts, taking God and prayer out of our schools and removing religious objects from our government buildings and now they are succeeding in taking God out of the Constitution.

Why are we continuously letting this happen?

Let’s use this Lenten season to really find who we are. Ask God to help us to be totally honest with ourselves and open our hearts so we can come to realize how much God means to us and ask him to give us the courage to fight for him.

Let’s stop asking God to protect us and let’s start protecting him. It is past time for us to put a stop to these enemies of God and country. Stand up, speak out and demand our rights and beliefs to preserve our Christianity Let us also pray to God and ask him to give all Religious Leaders the courage to speak out thru the pulpit about what is happening to our faith. It’s time for them to lead us by organizing, speaking out and continue to fight no matter what it takes to restore God’s image. Look what Jesus did, he fought city hall and won. And look what Peter and the Apostles did to keep the spirit of Christ alive.

They sacrificed their lives for God and us. I believe that it is time for our leaders and us to get some backbone and confront these evil doers and government decisions threatening our Christian faith, before it is too late.

If we do our part, God will do his part bringing this great Country back where it belongs, ” united under God”.

God’s love is eternal. God Bless our Nation.
