Snyder’s legislation doesn’t stand a chance
I hope that no beleaguered homeowner is relying on passage of State Representative Pam Snyder’s proposed legislation (House Bill 1200), which would enable school districts to eliminate the crippling property tax that they levy.
We have heard the promise of tax reform/relief before, over a period of decades, but when it comes time to approve such legislation, we find that there are few profiles in courage in the Pennsylvania General Assembly.
I see the prospects of significant property tax relief in Pennsylvania to be just as likely as a reduction in the size and expense of the State House, a good government measure which Representative Snyder and other citizen-unfriendly cohorts helped to kill.
