Trump-elected judges give white-collar crime a leg up
In regards to the extremely light sentence given Paul Manafort by US District Judge T.S. Ellis.
Mr. Manafort was charged with and pleaded guilty to 18 counts of Bank and Tax fraud, that go back over 30 years. Serious charges that involved stealing over 25 million dollars from the American tax payers. Mr. Manafort, was not charged with Collusion.
However, Judge Ellis when sentencing Mr. Manafort said, Mr. Manafort led a blameless life and did not collude with the Russians as if colluding with the Russians, were more important than his stealing 25 million dollars from taxpayers.
So according to Judge Ellis, if you steal 30 million dollars over 30 years you are leading a blameless life.
Crimes involving corporations the rich and well-connected are almost always given a light sentence or probation, crimes involving poor middle class are almost always given a harsher punishment.
Federal Judge T.S. Ellis, is only one of the many Federal Judges with an Ideology that favors the rich and corporations.
Donald Trump nominated Mitch McConell and has blessed over 90 Federal Judges since Trump took office. These judges come straight out of Corporate law firms. Some with no court room experience. Their allegiance is not to the American people or our justice system their allegiance is to their corporate masters. In the future, if you need to go to federal court and your suing or being sued by a corporation you lose. Oligarchs have bought and now control the executive branch the judicial branch and half the legislative branch. It only gets worse from here. Its been said before “America deserves the government it elects.”
