Special thanks to those involved with Veteran’s Day parade

2 min read

As Fayette County commander of the American Legion, I would like to thank all veterans who marched in the Veteran’s Day parade. It was a bright sunny day a little breezy and warm for November. The city of Uniontown and American Legion Post 51 hosts this parade every three years. Next year, it will be in Connellsville then Masontown then back to Uniontown.

Also a heartfelt thanks to the general public for showing up in support of our Veterans. The warm reception by you the public is what makes this day so special. I was so very proud to have marched shoulder to shoulder with a World War II veteran who is 95 years young. “OORAH!”

Also to those who attended our program at American Legion Post 51. Thank you. We happen to have a very rich veteran environment in this southwestern pocket of Pennsylvania and the public support is well received.

Special thanks to Uniontown City Police for granting the parade permit and traffic control.

Please keep in mind that eligibility for membership in the American Legion has changed if you took the oath and stood in boots stop in Post 51.

Special thanks to reporter Fran Zajac and the staff of the Uniontown newspaper for your support.

Again to the City of Uniontown and sounding areas thanks for your support.

Rob Doria

Fayette County committee commander
