What is happening to ‘America the Beautiful?’
I am sure that Lady Liberty is hanging her head in shame. Our country, this beautiful land of the free, is sinking slowly into autocracy. This is not what our Founding Fathers envisioned when they wrote the U.S. Constitution. The present administration needs an education as to what is in the Constitution because they are violating article after article.
No president has the power to take us into a war. But once again, this president is ignoring the Constitution and has done just that. Some of our boys will be killed, as the president has so blatantly said. It will not be his sons, but it will be ours. Already six have been killed. Is this OK with us?
When November comes, we must stop this man’s reckless actions.
When people voted for immigration reform, they were told that drug dealers and criminals would be deported. That is not what is happening.
Men are running around in masks and using weapons of war on American citizens. People are being pulling out of their cars by their hair; car windows are being smashed; doors to homes are being broken down; children are being grabbed along with their parents and sent to detention centers. People are being deported with no due process, said family memebers, who are not sure where they are. And worst of all there have been two deaths at the hands of ICE agents, and nothing is being done about them.
Yes, this is what is happening in “Our Land of the Free.” This is what our president, Steven Miller, Pam Bondi and the now-fired Kristi Noem have given us. Are we willing to accept it? At the ballot box in November, we have a chance to give our answer.
These people know they are in trouble, so they are setting the stage to try to fix the elections. Do not let them fool you. Even if they send their ICE agents to the polls, which is illegal, do not be intimidated.
None of this was promised on the campaign trail. On the campaign trail the president promised to lower costs on health care, groceries, housing, utilities, etc. This has not happened yet, and he is in his second year in office. What has happened is that he, his family and rich friends have gotten richer.
The Epstein files are a story all of their own. The victims are still being victimized and powerful men are being protected. Pam Bondi was a disgrace when she went before the congressional hearings. She answered no questions and disrespected every member of the committee. This woman should be impeached. She has violated her oath of office repeatedly. The Department of Justice should be the People’s Department, and it has become the president’s personal attorney. No other president, Democrat or Republican has used the Department of Justice in this way.
The White House belongs to the people, and Trump has treated it as if he owns it. He has had things painted gaudy gold, and plaques have been put up on the walls that say awful things about past presidents.
This is not America I know. Is it the one you know?
