Will injuries limit TLC card?

WWE presents TLC on Sunday, Dec. 16, on the WWE Network, and a lot of the card is still up in the air due to injuries.

Braun Stroman, Smackdown women鈥檚 champion Becky Lynch and Alexa Bliss are all out due to injuries and may not be cleared in the next week.

Ross: Lynch/Rousey headline WrestleMania

Add Hall of Fame announcer Jim Ross to the list of people who feel that Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey should headline WrestleMania in April.

I shared the same feelings in this column a few weeks ago and Ross shared his with Justin Barrasso of 缅北禁地 Illustrated.

鈥淚 would be very comfortable with (them) in the main event at WrestleMania,鈥 Ross told Barrasso. 鈥淏ecky and Ronda would be my match on top 鈥 that鈥檚 the hottest thing they have going right now.鈥

Ross also commented on Charlotte Flair being added into the mix which is very likely, but I hope they go with Lynch against Rousey to close the show.

Queen of the Ring coming?

While WWE did away with the King of the Ring tournament years ago, it could debut a Queen of the Ring event in 2019. Could it be the next all-women鈥檚 PPV theme?

Women tag titles forthcoming?

It has been discussed several times in this column about WWE talking about debuting a set of women鈥檚 tag team titles.

The thought was mentioned on Raw this past Monday and look for it to happen sooner rather than later.

Where better to crown the first women tag champs than at WrestleMania?

My prediction, if WWE goes with a Lynch vs. Rousey vs. Flair match at Mania, is that Sasha Banks and Bayley will face Hall of Famer鈥檚 Trish Stratus and Lita at Mania for the titles.

WWE tapes Tribute to the Troops show

WWE recorded its annual Tribute to the Troops on Tuesday and the event will more than likely air the week before, or the week of, Christmas.

Roman Reigns made his first appearance since being diagnosed for a second time with leukemia at the taping.

Pair of wrestling deaths

This past week, the pro wrestling world lost a pair of former stars.

Both Larry 鈥淭he Ax鈥 Hennig, father to 鈥淢r. Perfect鈥 Cut Hennig and grandfather to Curtis Axel, as well as Dynamite Kid, passed away.

Hennig was a star during the territorial days, while Dynamite was a star in the WWF from the mid-1980s through the end of the decade.

Dynamite Kid is considered one of the top in-ring performers of all-time and was ahead of his time. He was idolized by Chris Benoit with Benoit emulating his style.

Dynamite was best known in America for being one-half of the popular tag team, The British Bulldogs, in the WWF with the duo winning the tag titles at WrestleMania 2 from The Dream Team.

If you get the chance, look up some Dynamite Kid matches from his singles career, especially in other countries.

A heartfelt thank you

I am humbled to thank everyone, from the weekly readers of this column to dozens of Cal U employees, for reaching out about my tribute last week to Janet Booker.

I am proud to know that my words resonated with so many who knew her, and we are all better off for having her in our respective lives.

On This Day 鈥

In 2001, Chris Jericho defeated both The Rock, then the WCW champion, and Stone Cold Steve Austin, then the WWF (now the WWE) champion, to become the first-ever Undisputed WWF champion.

This week鈥檚 question

Brock Lesnar is much smaller since he announced that he wanted to return to the UFC. Is it coincidence, or is he not using as many lifting supplements? Ryan, California.

Several people have emailed me asking and saying similar things, and it could very well be that.

However, I asked a buddy of mine who is a big fan of the UFC and he said it may also be that with Lesnar training for a fight in the near future, it would make sense for him to tone down his size so that he is more agile.

Either way, Lesnar is definitely lighter.
