Chartiers-Houston too much for Frazier

Alijah Vaden scored a game-high 21 points to lead Chartiers-Houston to a 71-47 non-section victory over Frazier on Tuesday at Chartiers-Houston High School.

The Buccaneers (2-1) held a 21-15 lead after the first quarter, and increased their advantage at halftime to 40-24 after outscoring the Commodores, 19-9, in the second quarter.

Frazier (0-3) cut the deficit to 14 after a 17-15 edge in the third, but Chartiers-Houston outscored the visitors, 14-7, in the fourth.

The Commodores were led in scoring by Luke Santo, who had 14 points. Teammate Owen Newcomer added 10.

Evan Simpson scored 18 and Seth Dunn 11 for the Buccaneers.

Frazier opens up Section 4-AAA play on Friday when it travels to Beth-Center (1-1) for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off.
