Vikings hold off visiting Waynesburg for 56-43 win

Mount Pleasant built a 16-point halftime lead Friday night and the Vikings then held off a second-half push by visiting Waynesburg Central for a 56-43 Section 3-AAAA victory.

The Vikings (1-0, 3-1) led 29-13 at halftime, but the Raiders outscored the home team in the final 16 minutes, 30-27.

Jacob Johnson scored a game-high 18 points for Mount Pleasant. Luke Brander added 11.

Chris King led Waynesburg (0-2, 2-3) with 12 points. Lucas Garber finished with 11.
