Lady Falcons fall in the closing seconds, 56-53
The Brownsville girls tied the game at 53 with 12 seconds remaining in the game, but Seton-La Salle’s Chloe Lestitin hit a field goal and free throw in the final seconds for a 56-53 Section 2-AAA road victory on Monday night.
Brownsville (1-1, 4-1) trailed 53-48 with 57 seconds left in the game, but scored five points over the next 45 seconds to tie the game.
Brownsville led at halftime, 30-17, but Seton-La Salle (2-0, 3-2) rallied in the second half on the strength of seven 3-pointers.
Emma Seto led the Lady Falcons with 17 points. Aubri Hyatt finished with 16 and Aniya Tarpley added 15.
Sarah Merlina scored a game-high 18 points for the Lady Rebels. Emma Walsh and Makenzie Canevin both finished with 11.
