Logan Knoyer, a junior on the West Virginia Wesleyan men鈥檚 swimming team, is happy with how his season is going and is excited with what lays ahead.

鈥淚 am very happy with how the season has gone so far and I believe that I am doing better up through this point in the season as compared to last year,鈥 said the Laurel Highlands graduate. 鈥淢y biggest improvement compared to last season would have to be my mental toughness.

鈥淚 have done a much better job this year with taking every practice and every race, whether good or bad, and using it to stay focused and get better to make this season the best I possibly can.鈥

Knoyer played a big part in Wesleyan鈥檚 win over Fairmont State last Saturday. He won the 100 freestyle and was a member of the 200 freestyle relay, while finishing second in the 200 freestyle.

Knoyer has set what he wants to accomplish as he moves forward

鈥淢y goals for the rest of the season include finishing up our last dual meet of the season Friday, while making the preparations in practice over the next few weeks to get ready for our conference meet in mid-February,鈥 he said. 鈥淭he goals at conference are trying to obtain any personal best times with the goal of doing the best that I can to help my team win the Mountain East Conference for the second year in a row.鈥

Rice leads Grove City

Justice Rice helped lead Monessen to a pair of WPIAL boys basketball titles, and the sophomore is growing as a leader on the Grove City men鈥檚 basketball team.

Rice is a captain for the 10-7 Wolverines and is living up to his leadership mantle given to him by the coaching staff. Rice has started 16 of the team鈥檚 17 games through Monday and is third in scoring on the team with a 11.3 average.

The sophomore leads the teams with 51 assists and 21 steals, and is second with 16 blocks and third with 74 rebounds.

Valuable CFB programs

Earlier this month, a piece located at https://www.wsj.com/articles/how-much-is-your-college-football-team-worth-11546875092 looked at the most valuable college football programs.

The piece looked at how conference revenue distribution numbers are exceeding record highs and looked at the most lucrative brands.

The piece calculated what a college team would be worth in the open market if it were able to be bought and sold like professional sports franchises by analyzing 鈥渆ach program鈥檚 revenues and expenses along with cash flow adjustments, risk assessments and growth projections.鈥

Three teams went over the $1 billion threshold with Texas leading the way at $1.1 billion, Ohio State was second at $1.05 billion and Alabama was third at $1.01 billion.

Penn State was the lone local team on the list as it came in 13th with a value of $518.8 million.

Clemson, the current national champion and winners of two of the last three crowns, did not make the list.
