Moxley’s time is now

When John Moxley signed with WWE in 2011 and eventually debuted as Dean Ambrose in November, 2012, he had a reputation of being decent in the ring but amazing on the mic.

As a member of The Shield, he was limited as to what he could say and this was consistent until he left WWE earlier this year.

Prior to his WWE run, Moxley was known to have a character close to Heath Ledger鈥檚 Joker in The Dark Knight and I remember writing in a piece I wrote for another entity that if given the chance, Moxley鈥檚 Ambrose character would be the next breakout star in WWE.

However, with WWE鈥檚 penchant for handcuffing talent and force-feeding them lines, Moxley was not able to let his verbal skills to shine through.

Last Saturday, Moxley showed up at the end of the All Elite Wrestling PPV, Double Or Nothing, and his signing sent shockwaves through the pro wrestling world.

For the first time in his career, Moxley will be given the chance to show wrestling fans what he is capable of on his own.

We will look at Moxley more next week as we delve into why he left and how morale in WWE is really low right now.

WWE PPV Friday

WWE presents Super Showdown on the WWE Network Friday with a special start time of 2 p.m.

The event, which takes place in Saudi Arabia, is headlined by the first-ever match between The Undertaker and Goldberg.

Seth Rollins is scheduled to defend the Universal title against Baron Corbin although WWE is teasing that Brock Lesnar will cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase Monday.

Kofi Kingston defends the WWE championship against Dolph Ziggler, Roman Reigns faces Shane McMahon, Triple H takes on Randy Orton, Finn Balor defends the Intercontinental title against Andrade, the Lucha House Party takes on Lars Sullivan in a handicapped match, Braun Strowman faces Bobby Lashley and there will be a 50-man battle royal.

Will the 24/7 title come into play?

Taker/Goldberg on TV

Speaking of the first-ever bout between The Undertaker and Goldberg, Taker will appear on Raw while Goldberg is set for Smackdown.

Taylor honored to win title

When Shane Taylor won the Ring of Honor Television title last month in Toronto, he joined an impressive list of wrestlers that have held the championship.

Guys like Eddie Edwards, Christopher Daniels, El Generico (now known in WWE as Sami Zayn), Adam Cole, Jay Lethal and Tommaco Ciampa, among others previously held the title.

Taylor recently spoke about what the experience means to him as well as others.

鈥淲inning the championship put me into the history books with some of the greats of this era,鈥 he said with pride. 鈥淚t means the world to me, but what I did not count on was it meaning so much to so many other people.

鈥淚 take immense pride in who I am, what I stand for and how I represent myself.鈥

When asked what his goal is as champion, Taylor did not hesitate to answer.

鈥淚 am going to be the best Ring of Honor Television champion there has ever been.鈥

On This Day鈥

In 1987, the longest Intercontinental title reign in WWE history begins when The Honnkytonk Man defeated Ricky 鈥淭he Dragon鈥 Steamboat.

Honkytonk鈥檚 reign lasted 454 days until he dropped the title to The Ultimate Warrior at the first SummerSlam PPV in 31 seconds.
