Pro wrestling up or down?
Following last week鈥檚 column where we looked at whether or not Vince McMahon is in tune with fans, feedback was tremendous.
With that said, let鈥檚 look at what some of the loyal readers had to say.
Fans need a reason to care
Longtime reader Jon Stefanick shared his thoughts on how WWE would be best served if it put together some groups.
鈥淚 am not saying the groups have to be as big as the Four Horsemen or the nWo, but something has to change,鈥 he said. 鈥淲hy not put together a modern day Four Horsemen with Bobby Roode as the leader, add The Revival and EC3.
鈥淭hey wouldn鈥檛 have all of the gold like the Horsemen but it would be a solid group and give those wrestlers meaning.鈥
Jon brought up a great idea about groups and it would work well as long as WWE would give fans a reason to like or dislike them.
Where are the tag teams?
Stevie from Uniontown shared that WWE has so many tag teams and does nothing with any of them.
鈥淟ook at Anderson and Gallows, The Ascension, Primo and Epico and The Viking Raiders, or whatever name WWE gives them this week,鈥 he said. 鈥淭here are so many teams yet fans have no reason to care about any of them.鈥
The same goes for the women鈥檚 division. There are only so many female wrestlers who are being used adequately while the rest are doing a whole lot of nothing.
WWE has a major problem on their hands in that they have way too many wrestlers on the two big brands while doing nothing with them.
AEW sells out again
All Elite Wrestling put tickets on sale Friday for its next PPV and it sold out in 15 minutes.
鈥淎EW is going to give WWE fits,鈥 said Rosie of Connellsville. 鈥淎ll of the WWE wrestlers will eventually want to leave and go to AEW.鈥
While it will take AEW a long time for WWE to consider it a rival, if ever, hopefully AEW makes McMahon open his eyes.
Chances are it won鈥檛 though as Vince knows what fans want better than they do.
Or so he still says.
Impact鈥檚 questionable move
Word broke this week that Impact wrestlers are no longer allowed to wear non-Impact produces\d shirts during shows.
鈥淭his makes no sense,鈥 said Kelly from Carmichaels. 鈥淲hy not let the wrestlers wear the shirts?鈥
Impact鈥檚 logic is solid as they want to sell merchandise with wrestlers names or images on them so it can make money.
The company is providing the wrestlers a platform as the talent would not be on TV if not for Impact.
WWE does not allow wrestlers to do it, nor does Ring of Honor of AEW.
It is the standard practice.
On This Day鈥
In 2000, The Players Club (Eric 鈥淭he Electric鈥 Love and Luscious Lucas) defeated 鈥淕olden Boy鈥 Dennis Gregory and Frankie Corleone to win the Championship Wrestling Federation tag team titles in Monessen.
