Money PPV shapes future
The results from past Money in the Bank PPVs have shaped WWE, and Sunday鈥檚 event will be no different.
The added intrigue of when both the men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 winners will cash in adds an extra level of excitement to WWE, and considering the albatross of recent ratings, the company can use the help.
Sheamus facing retirement?
There is word going around that Sheamus will be announcing his retirement from in-ring action.
He has spinal stenosis and his career was prolonged by teaming up with Cesaro for the last several years.
Undertaker versus Goldberg
If wrestling fans could travel back in time 20 years to see a dream match that never happened, one of them would be The Undertaker against Goldberg.
Diehard fans are getting their wish, albeit two decades too late. They will square off at Super Show-Down in Saudi Arabia in June.
Both are best known for their legendary streaks, with Taker winning his first 21 WrestleMania matches, while Goldberg 鈥渂egan鈥 his WCW career winning 178 straight matches.
Former WWE star passes away
Ashley Massaro, who won WWE鈥檚 Diva Search in 2005, passed away early Thursday morning. She remained with the company until 2008 and left the business.
Massaro, who was 39, leaves behind a young daughter.
Another wrestling death
Silver King, a legend in lucha libre, died during a match last Saturday. He was 51.
Flair having surgery
Ric Flair was to have surgery Friday, but due to complications, it has been put off temporarily.
Vince big on Andrade
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Vince McMahon is big on Andrade and that the only thing holding him back right now is his limited English speaking skills.
WWE has given him an English tutor to help him.
Taylor ROH title match set
It was announced Friday that Shane Taylor, known locally from his time in the Pittsburgh wrestling scene, will defend the Ring of Honor TV title against Bandido at the ROH: Best in the World PPV on June 28.
AEW TV deal set
Last week, we looked at All Elite Wrestling securing a TV deal on TNT. The deal has officially been signed, although the day and time of the show has not announed.
Tuesdays seem to be a possibility, but the NBA has a deal to air games on the channel on Tuesdays, so Wednesdays appear to be the best bet, but time will tell.
