Commodores rally in second half for 64-60 road victory

Frazier rallied with 46 points in the second half for a 64-40 victory Friday night in Section 4-AA action at Chartiers-Houston.

The Commodores (2-1, 7-5) trailed 37-18 halftime. The visitors cut the deficit to 48-43 after three quarters.

Frazier completed the second-half rally by out-scoring the Bucs in the fourth quarter, 21-12.

Frazier’s Dailan McManus hit four 3-pointers to finish with a game-high 21 points. Darian Bateman scored 18 points and Brennen Stewart added 10.

Justus Buckingham (14), Paul Williamson (12), and Nate Gregory (10) finished in double figures for Chartiers-Houston (2-2, 9-3).

Bentworth 50, Carmichaels 40 – The Bearcats held their halftime advantage in the second half for a Section 4-AA road victory.

Bentworth (1-3, 2-8) led 22-13 at halftime.

The Bearcats’ Lucas Burt had a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Ben Hays finished with 13 points.

Dom Colarusso led the way for the Mikes (0-3, 3-8) with 16 points. Robbie Wilson-Jones added 13 points.

Burgettstown 63, Beth-Center 50 – The Blue Devils led 17-10 after the first quarter and maintained the lead for a Section 4-AA home victory.

Burgettstown (3-0, 10-2) increased its advantage to 35-23 at halftime.

Brody Tharp led the Bulldogs (1-2, 3-7) with 16 points. Santino Revi and Jason Zellie both scored 11 points.

James Leuice (21), Zack Schrockman (20), Carson Tkalcevic (11), and Parker Rommes (11) combined to score all of Burgettstown’s points.

Peters Twp. 102, Connellsville 38 – Peters Twp. scored 31 points in both the first and second quarters to roll to a Section 1-AAAAA home victory.

Anthony Piasecki led the Falcons (0-2, 1-11) with 15 points.

Jack Dunbar scored 31 points for Peters Twp. (1-1, 7-4). Dylan Donovan finished with 16 points and Sean Thelk added 11.

Thomas Jefferson 73, Ringgold 37 – The Jaguars scored all the points they needed in the first half for a Section 1-AAAAA road victory.

Thomas Jefferson (1-0, 7-2) led 50-26 at halftime.

Daryl Tolliver paced the Rams (0-1, 3-8) with 14 points.

Nicholas Trklja scored a game-high 16 points in the victory. Brody Evans added 13 points.

Southmoreland 77, Elizabeth Forward 70 – The Scotties rallied in the fourth quarter to fend off the visiting Warriors for a Section 3-AAAA home victory.

Southmoreland (1-1, 11-1) led 44-34 at halftime, but Elizabeth Forward tied the game at 56-all after the third quarter.

Southmoreland outscored the Warriors in the fourth quarter, 21-14, for the win.

Ty Keffer scored a game-high 29 points for Southmoreland. Noah Felentzer finished with 22 points and Wyatt Richter added 15.

Isaiah Turner finished with 25 points for Elizabeth Forward (1-1, 9-2). Cy Herchelroath scored 17 points and Tyler Basic added 12.

Washington 61, Yough 53 – The Cougars’ Terek Crosby scored a game-high 28 points, but the Prexies used a solid advantage in the middle two quarters for a Section 4-AAA home victory.

Washington (4-0, 6-5) held a 32-23 advantage in the second and third quarters to break a 17-17 first quarter tie.

Austin Matthews added 13 points for Yough (2-1, 7-4).

A.J. Smith-Reynier led the way for Washington with 16 points. Ruben Gordon and De’Ondre Daugherty both scored 14 points.

Mount Pleasant 65, Brownsville 50 – The Vikings remained undefeated in Section 4-AAA play with a victory over the visiting Falcons.

Mount Pleasant (3-0, 4-7) trailed 13-10 after the first quarter, but rallied for a 26-21 halftime lead. The Vikings secured the win with a 22-12 advantage in the fourth quarter.

Mount Pleasant’s Dante Giallonardo scored a game-high 22 points. Connor Pavlochak finished with 15 points and Luke Rivardo added 11.

Trent Wible (12), Harlan Davis (11), Maxime Dieodonne (11), and Donovan Wimmer (10) all scored in double figures for the Falcons (1-3, 5-7).

Monessen 60, Jefferson-Morgan 41 – The Greyhounds put the game away with a 22-4 advantage in the fourth quarter for a Section 2-A home victory.

Lorenzo Gardner led Monessen (2-0, 8-1) with a game-high 27 points. Devontae Robinson added 10 points.

John Woodward Jr. scored 13 points and Jase Bedillion added 11 for the Rockets (1-1, 8-4).

West Greene 62, Geibel Catholic 26 – The Pioneers cruised to their first Section 2-A win of the season against the visiting Gators.

West Greene (1-1, 6-6) led 16-8, 34-15 and 52-19 at the quarter breaks.

Lane Allison paced West Greene with a game-high 20 points. Parker Burns finished with 16 points.

Gary Tarbuk led the Gators (0-2, 0-11) with 14 points.

California 59, Mapletown 51 – The Trojans made a first-quarter lead stand for a Section 2-A road victory.

California (2-0, 2-9) sprinted out to a 23-8 lead in the first quarter. The visitors led 34-21 at halftime with Vinny Manzella and Jacob Ziolecki combining for 25 first-half points.

The Trojans led 48-34 after three quarters. Mapletown (0-2, 1-8) held a 17-11 advantage in the fourth quarter.

Manzella scored a game-high 19 points. Ziolecki finished with 18 points and Noah Neil added 13.

Roger Gradek finished with 17 points and Josh Mick added 15 for the Maples.

Girls basketball

McKeesport 52, Albert Gallatin 23 – The Lady Tigers pulled out to an early double-digit lead on their way to a Section 3-AAAAA home victory.

McKeesport (3-0, 9-1) led 18-4, 34-7 and 49-14 at the quarter breaks.

Mya Glisan and Grayce Panos both scored eight points for the Lady Colonials (0-4, 3-9).

Maddie Hertzler paced McKeesport with 15 points. Rachael Manfredo added 12 points.

Charleroi 56, Ringgold 25 – The Lady Cougars blew the game open in the third quarter for a non-section victory over the visiting Lady Rams.

The game was tied at 10-10 after the first quarter. Charleroi pushed out to a 27-11 halftime lead and put the game away with a 22-7 advantage in the third quarter.

Addison Conrad led Charleroi (5-5) with a game-high 22 points. Riley Jones finished with nine points.

Jada Gernot scored nine points for Ringgold (3-7).
