The high school wrestling season is ongoing but Frazier will be adjusting to a new head coach as the PIAA individual tournament nears.

Tyler Kenney, who took over when Buck Watkins stepped down as the Commodores head coach after the 2023-24 season, recently relinquished his post as Frazier’s head coach.

“Head varsity wrestling coach Tyler Kenney has stepped down from his position due to personal reasons,” Frazier athletic director Mandy Hartman said. “The district appreciates Coach Kenney’s dedication to the student-athletes and the wrestling program and thanks him for his contributions.”

Frazier stayed in house for Kenney’s replacement, promoting its middle school head coach Earl Moore.

“Earl Moore will step in to lead the varsity team for the remainder of the season, ensuring continuity and support for the student-athletes,” Hartman said. “The team remains focused on preparing for the upcoming individual postseason and continuing its efforts on the mat.”

Kenney is a Connellsville graduate who recorded 101 wins as a wrestler under coach Tom Dolde Jr. for the Falcons. He went on to wrestle one year at Pitt before finishing his collegiate career at Seton Hill.

Kenney also was a middle school head coach, at Norwin, when he was hired as Frazier’s head coach on July 16 last year.

Moore is a 2004 Laurel Highlands graduate and former Mustangs wrestler who had a career record of 19-12.
