McKeesport rides second-half surge to 80-67 win at LH

McKeesport outscored host Laurel Highlands 24-11 in the third quarter to rally for an 80-67 victory in a non-section boys basketball clash on Saturday.

The Tigers (2-3) put four players in double figures. Brian Jones led the way with 20 points and was followed by Keith Spell (19), Lamont Perkins (16) and Dan Cochran (10).

The game was tied 14-14 after one quarter but the Mustangs took a 29-27 halftime lead.

The Tigers’ third-quarter surge put them ahead 52-40 and they stayed in control the rest of the way.

The Mustangs (2-6) also had four players with double-digit points. Aiden Black scored 18, Antwan Black followed with 13, Brennan Varney added 11 and Ethan Koffler chipped in with 10.
